Symptoms: coughing when having a cold.
Ingredients: 200g daikon/turnip, 1 tea spoon of crystal sugar, 200ml of water.
How to prepare and use it: wash daikon well and cut it on very thin sticks (don’t peel it before). Put it in a pot, add water and sugar and boil until sugar dissolves. Prepare once a day and eat once a day. Continue doing so for 3 days. Eat hot in the winter and lukewarm in summer.

Symptoms: coughing when having a cold.
Ingredients: 6 tea spoons of molasses, 2 carrots.
How to prepare and use it: wash the carrot and cut it on slices. Put it in a bowl, add molasses and mix so that carrot is soaked in molasses. Leave it for one night. The next day remove the carrots so that you only have molasses left. Prepare once a day and eat 3 times a day (approximately 2 tea spoons of molasses per each time). Continue doing so until you feel well.
Symptoms: cough that continues for a long time, days, weeks or months.
Ingredients: 2 cabbage roots, 30g crystal sugar, 1 liter of water.
How to prepare and use it: wash the cabbage roots well, add water and sugar and bring it to boil. Continue boiling until you are left with 600ml of water. Prepare once every day, separate on 3 parts and eat 3 times a day. Don’t eat the cabbage root, just drink the water. Continue doing so until you feel well.
Symptoms: cough (when the blood appears while coughing).
Ingredients: 3g white edible fungus (dried), 1 tea spoon of crystal sugar.
How to prepare and use it: put fungus in a bowl, add a little bit of water and leave it like this for 12 hours. After 12 hours add sugar. Then put a bowl into another pot to steam. Steam for 1 hour. Eat in the morning on empty stomach once a day. Continue doing so until you feel well.
Symptoms: painful throat.
Ingredients: 10g algae (dried), 5g sugar, water.
How to prepare and use it: wash algae and cut in on strips. Separately boil the water in a pot and put the algae in a boiling water, remove it after a minute (you don’t need water any more). Add sugar to algae, mix it and leave it for 3 days (for sugar to get into the algae). After 3 days eat it. Prepare and eat once a day. Continue doing so until you feel well.
Symptoms: Cough that last for a long time, days, week or even months.
Ingredients: 15g black edible fungus, 15g crystal sugar.
How to prepare and use it: put fungus and sugar in a bowl, add a little bit of water and put all together in a pot to steam. Steam until fungus is very soft. Prepare twice a day, eat hot twice a day.
Symptoms: cough (if you are coughing because you caught a cold).
Ingredients: 1 daikon/turnip, 1 tea spoon of crystal sugar, 2 slices of candid mandarin.
How to prepare and use it: cut daikon on pieces and put it in a bowl. Add sugar, mandarin slices and a little bit of water. Put everything to steam. When the water in a pot which you use for steaming starts to boil, leave it to boil for another 10 minutes until done. Prepare 2-3 times a day and eat hot.
Symptoms: cough (if you are coughing because you caught a cold).
Ingredients: 100 g of spring onion (green and white part, without roots), 1 egg, 1 cup of water.
How to prepare and use it: cut spring onion on very small pieces. Beat the raw egg with a fork. Put all together in a bowl, add boiling water and mix well while adding the water. Prepare and eat hot once a day until you feel well. After you eat it dress yourself well or cover yourself with blankets and take are rest or sleep for a while.
Symptoms: cough, phlegm/sputum in throat.
Ingredients: 500 g of lots root, 1 tea spoon of crystal sugar, 1 cup of water (250ml).
How to prepare and use it: squeeze the juice out of the lotus root and put it on the side. Put sugar in the water and boil until the sugar melts. Remove from fire and add lotus root juice. Drink hot twice a day until you feel well.
Symptoms: chronic cough.
Ingredients: 1 middle size sweet potato, 1 tea spoon of honey, water.
How to prepare and use it: peel and cut sweet potato on very small pieces (around 2-3 mm size, or as small as you can cut it). Put it in a cup (around 250ml cup), add honey and boiling water till the top of the cup. Mix well and drink hot. Prepare and drink twice a day and continue doing so until you feel well.
